July, 1963 edition of Alumni News, "A Free-Floating Globe, 24 inches in diameter, has been presented to NLSC's new Sandel Library by an anonymous donor. Viewing the gift are Mrs. Maud Merritt Bentrup, librarian, and T.N. McMullen, director of libraries at Louisiana State University. the globe is valued at more than $200".
