Description

Written in the June 16, 1967 The Times-Picayune, New Orleans, LA., "State education leaders and Northeast Louisiana State College paid tribute Wednesday night to Mrs. Eleanor H. Meade, of New Orleans, the only woman ever to serve on the State Board of Education...Northeast gave the banquet at the Fountainebleau Motor Hotel for Mrs. Meade in whose name an Honor Professorship was established at the college in 1966. Mrs. Meade retired from the board in 1963 after 35 years of service".
