Description

Written on the back of image 398 in this collection, "BOYS' DORMITORY NO. 1: This building was purchased from Selman Field for $25. The room and trusses were removed, cut in four pieces, hauled to the campus, and re-assembled. It has fourteen rooms available for students, with a maximum capacity for 56 students - four to the room. This conversion, exclusive of furniture, cost approximately $4,000.00".

A portion of the September 29, 1952 letter to President Slater from John A. Pritchett, Jr., regarding set of six images, "Here are 6 prints made with 35mm camera that I thought you might like to have of the dormitory construction".
