Written in homecoming program; November 2, 1949; "Queen of Homecoming: Miss Alice Perry of Perryville was chosen to reign over the homecoming ceremonies, as Queen of Homecoming. Miss Perry is five feet five inches tall, has brown hair, brown eyes, and a million dollar smile. When asked for a statement she replied, 'I was thrilled beyond words. I could hardly believe it, but I think its wonderful'".
